Day 29

Day 29 was our last day on the road. We left Jackson, TN and made a stop about an hour south at the Shiloh National Military Park. After careful consideration we decided to forego Memphis and replace it with a trip to Shiloh. I have been reading about Shiloh for a long time, it is not that far away, but I have never been. Could not pass up the chance. It was worth the stop. Well done and very knowledgeable staff. Even got a demonstration on firing the rifles. We found the memorial to the fallen Alabamians as well as the fallen boys from Illinois, Julie’s ancestors. After lunch we headed across the NE tip of Mississippi and all yelled a glorious HURRAH at the site of the Welcome to Alabama sign. 4,300 miles. We arrived at 5:30 and too our surprise had delicious dinner waiting on us from our great friend Natasha Swing.

This has been a true joy to write this blog and I appreciate everyone who has kept us in their prayers as we traveled across this great country of ours. It was a trip of a lifetime! Thank you.
